Steel House .

The Steel House is a co-working and maker facility located in Rockland, Maine. I co-founded this initiative in 2014 with Nathan Davis and Julie O’Rourke. In the early days of the Steel House, the three of us worked on folding tables and makeshift furnishings. We offered design courses and other workshops to both local youth and adults and hosted events of our own design. We’ve since grown to over 25 members and have two buildings that both overlook Penobscot Bay. We continue to offer workshops, events and now have our very own gallery. Our facilities include a full woodworking shop, letterpress and silkscreen stations, laser cutting and 3d printing capabilities, a conference room, event space and an oceanfront amphitheater. Most importantly, our members include printmakers, photographers, technologists, web developers, industrial designers, brand strategists, architects and several dogs.
